We had some sponges laying around the house (for as long as I can remember!) and since I'm not a fan of using sponges to clean with, I was trying to come up with a way to use them. If you don't happen to have some on hand, you can get a bag of 6-8 for $1 at your favorite dollar store location. We frequently send for free samples of items and I had several different ones laying
a Few Cheap Sponges
1 pkg Fabric Softener (sample size) (or about 1/3 c. of any brand)
Water (about 1 1/2 cups)
Snip the corner off the sample size package of fabric softener and dump it into your shallow container. Fill the container about 2/3rds of the way with water. Stir well to mix.
Cut the sponges in half and place them into the container, allowing them to absorb the mixture.
To Use: Gently squeeze out 1 sponge, wringing it out completely, and then toss it into the dryer with a load of wet clothes, and dry normally. When the clothes are dry, place the dehydrated sponge back into the mixture until the next time.
Keep the homemade dryer sheets covered between uses.
This works just as well, if not better than the store bought counterparts and can be made for free!
