    • Black Bean Soup Mix

      1 pound dried black beans
      1/2 teaspoon black pepper
      1 bay leaf
      1 teaspoon dried thyme leaves
      1 teaspoon cumin powder
      4 beef bouillon cubes, crumbled

Layer all ingredients in a large cone-shaped bag, Jar, or Vacuum Seal bag; seal & attach a tag with directions. If desired, Decorate Jar/Cone/Bag for what-ever occasion it was created for.

      Attach Tag:
      Black Bean Soup
      2 tbl. veg oil
      1 medium onion (chopped)
      1/2 pound polish sausage
1 package black bean soup mix
8 c. water, salt and pepper

In stockpot, soak beans in water overnight. Drain beans and reserve.
In large stockpot, heat the oil, and add onion and sausage. Saute mixture over medium high heat until onion is translucent. Add the beans and Black Bean Soup Mix. Stir the mixture and add the water. Reduce the heat to a simmer, and cook partially covered for 2 hours. Season to taste with salt and pepper.

That is a great idea. I love to bake and use them all of the time but they can be expensive. I may have to make my own.
