    • Oatmeal Bath Bombs

Create your own moisturizing, anti-itch oatmeal bath bombs! These wonderful fizzy bath bombs are perfect for relieving dry itchy skin throughout the winter months.
This recipe is very versatile in the fact that you can use whatever essential oil suits your purpose. For a relaxing bath, use Lavender EO, for a Decongesting bath use Eucalyptus Essential oil, for a refreshing bath use peppermint essential oil, etc.

      You'll Need:
      1/4 cup of baking soda
2 Tbs. cornstarch or corn flour
11/2 Tbs. of almond or apricot kernel oil
      1 Tbs. of water
      2 Tbs. Citric acid
1/4 cup of Oatmeal (powdered by blender)
10 drops essential oil, any fragrance
      5 Drops food coloring, OPTIONAL.

Blend dry ingredients together. In separate bowl blend food coloring with oils and slowly pour into the dry mix, (adding more oil if necessary).

You can shape the balls with your hands or use candy or soap molds (sprayed lightly with Pam (non-stick spray) allow to dry 24 -48 hours. Wrap in cellophane and store in very dry place.

Use 1 or 2 per bath, as desired, simply drop one into a full tub of (your preferred temperature) water, climb in and enjoy.

Excellent idea. So nice to have your own homemade bath bombs and I know oatmeal is amazing for dry, itchy skin. Aveeno is so expensive and knowing you made it yourself to give away or keep just adds that little bit of extra love. Thanks very much for this recipe...

Btw... I know colloidal oatmeal is what you see in store bought products for itchy skin, but can this be bought or can it be made a in a specific way? I look forward to a response. Thank you...

I looked up colloidal because I wasn't aware of the meaning....It just means blended fine like colloidal silver which is a common homeopathic remedy. I going to just blend it until it's really fine in my blender. I have done this before to make oat flour.

Am I blind? Does it say anywhere how many balls this is supposed to make or how big?
