    Post Smoky Texas Jarlsburger

    Smoky Texas Jarlsburger:032:
    2 lb ground beef
    salt & pepper to taste
    3 tbs olive oil
    12 slices Texas garlic toast
    6 slices Jarlsberg cheese
    6 tomato slices
    1 red onion
1 head red leaf lettuce, washed and dried
    6 tbs hot sauce
Preheat grill on high for 15 minutes or until temperature is 400 to 500 degrees. Shape ground beef into six patties roughly the size and shape of Texas garlic toast. Sprinkle patties with salt and pepper and drizzle with olive oil. Place burgers on grill and cook 10 minutes for medium or to desired doneness, turning halfway through cooking. Meanwhile, place garlic toast slices on grill and cook 2 minutes per side or until toasted as desired. Remove from high heat and keep warm on upper grill warming rack until burgers are ready. One minute before burgers are done, top each with a slice of Jarlsberg cheese and let melt. To serve, place each burger on a slice of garlic toast and top with tomato, onion, lettuce, 1 tbs hot sauce, and another slice of garlic toast. 6 servings.

Sounds good! But of course I'm starving right now! Had the stomach flu over the weekend and now I'm a bottomless pit!

ooh...sorry to hear that you were down for the weekend, but glad that you're on the mend! these are a tasty change from the traditional cheeseburger. ground chicken or turkey is good, too, just add a bit of olive oil to the meat before making the patties.
