If you love the taste of the County Fair, you can bring it home with you! You don't have to pay $5 for a single funnel cake- you can make an entire batch for less than $1.00
Fair season is fun, but with all that's going on in the world right now, we're opting out of the usual fall treat. Instead, we're having a carnival of sorts of our own, of all our favorite friends and our favorite fair foods. One of my favorites happens to be Funnel Cakes!

      1 c. all-purpose flour
      1 tsp. baking powder
      1/4 tsp. salt
      1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon

Layer all ingredients in Jar Or vacuum seal bag.

      Attach Tag/ Directions:

      Combine the following:
      1 egg
      3/4 cup milk
      1 cup Mix

Blend well. Pour 1/4-1/3 c. batter into a funnel (pour batter into hot oil from funnel bottom)Fry 1 minute on each side (or until golden brown) Turn only once or they will be greasy.

If you don't happen to have a funnel on hand, you can pour the batter into a ziploc baggie and snip one corner off, drizzle the batter into the grease. Be careful it doesn't splatter onto the bag!

it is so much fun to watch the eyes of my family when I come up (after being here on budget101.com) with a new low cost treat. My sis-n-law thinks I'm insane, lol, until she eats what I make. Then my husband, who has a sugar addiction & diabetes 2, gets this glassy glittery look in his eye that says "I can't wait to try these and get into my next sugar high". And fyi, I don't let him do it often. Most of the time he is very diligent about counting his carbs.

And then comes my oldest son who is staying with us, and he gets this huge smile that says "YES" food.

And the youngest son at home...he says "Sugar! you know I don't like sugar!" all while he wolfs down whatever sweet concoction I have found to experiment with. It will be fun to see how he reacts tonight when I make these for dessert!

You can also use an empty squeezable container like a ketchup or mayo

Most food frying is about 350 degrees. You can use a candy thermometer, but do not let it touch the bottom of the pan or you will get false readings.

      Re: Our "new" Pet Bed

I'm always willing to share pics of my babies :newmom: (I have 2 two-legged, and 2 four-legged)! Of course, the word babies is a bit misleading as the human 2 are 24 & 21. LOL!
