Default Last Minute "Ocean" Themed Food Ideas?

My 1st grader's class is completing their study of oceans with an ocean-

themed day tomorrow. We've all been asked to bring an ocean-themed food

      item for the celebration.

Someone is already making cookies in the shape of starfish, fish,

boats, etc. Someone else is making (yes, making) sushi, and fish sticks

      have already been taken.

Any thoughts? I was thinking about tropical fruit salad, but that is

pretty pricey. And somehow, I don't think tuna salad would be a big hit.

      Thanks!

      Amy

I was thinking of sugar cookies shaped like fish, decorated with "water colors".

How about punch in brightly colored cups with little umbrellas (beachy

      looking) ?

How about the fish crackers in clear cups in Blue jello.

Make the blue jello and add the fish crackers..(goldfish) before it sets. It

will look like fish swimming . I think there is other crackers that look like

      different ocean animals.

Life is short. Break the rules. Forgive quickly.

Kiss slowly. Love truly. Laugh uncontrollably.

And never regret anything that made you smile.

You could do a bowl of blue jello, and get little gummy fish or

gummy sharks and put those in it.

You could also take a hot dog, and slice 3/4's of it into 5 "legs",

then boil it like normal. You set it upright with the legs curled

around the plate, so it looks like an octapus.

Goldfish crackers are another easy idea.

I was girl scout leader back in the day and here's what we did.

Buy some goldfish crackers, peanut butter and pretzel rods. The

children go fishing by dipping the pretzel rod in peanut butter then

they "catch" a fish with the pretzel rod and eat it! Or you can make

green and blue jello jigglers and cut them out in fish shapes.

      Have fun.

      Alice
