Has anyone used those dryer balls that's supposed to take the place of

fabric softener and dryer sheets? I've seen them in a magazine but

don't want to buy them unless I know they work.

I don't think they take the place of dryer sheets. I have 2 sets (4 total) clearance at Walmart for $2.00 a set. They are blue with little nubs all over. What they do is just fluf up the laundry in the dryer and I do think it helps with that. They will not take out static cling like a dryer sheet does. I still use a dryer sheet with each load. I have used them. They were a gift. They are fine for most things, but I miss the static relief that you get from the dryer sheet with towels, so I still use fabric softner in the washer with towels and the balls in the dryer. I have used a lot less dryer sheets since getting them. The clothes do seem to use less drying time. I don't dry many jeans in our dryer anymore. Haven't in quite some time. I hang them on the line. They take way too long to dry in the dryer. If I need a pair or two for hubby, I will dry those two pairand hang the rest. Has saved us a ton of money. Later, I would like to get a gas dryer, which dries jeans much faster, IMO. Herlean

<div style="font-family:times new roman, new york, times, serif;font-size:12pt;">I have them and love them. I have no static cling on anything, and the clothes are very soft when the come out. I have not tried using less time on my drier so I do not know if that is true but I love them and will buy them again when I need them. Patti

I have some, but have not used them yet. My understanding is that they are supposed to take the place of dryer sheets because there are some items that you are not supposed to us a dryer sheet when drying. My mother has used them ans really likes them. Good luck!

Instead of buying the special "dryer balls" use tennis balls, they are much cheaper and work as well.
