Catherine,
I use Basic and have for years. Since you were using the envelope
system it's my guess that Basic would work for you too. It has a ton of
features and is capable of more than I've needed it for. What I suggest
is that you go to Quicken's website (or Best Buy or wherever) and look
at the extra features you get with the more expensive versions. If
you'd use them and they're worth the price to you, go for it!
Otherwise, stick with Basic.

My DH and I have settled on a budget utilizing the "envelope" system
incorporated with the "Dave Ramsey" plan. He has started to invest in
401K and I will too by this summer. We are planning to invest in our
first home, and maintain school loans, "snowball", and possibly look at
investing by the end of the year. We've always used TaxAct.com to file
our taxes, but this may be the first year we will be itemizing.
