I just have to share this with all of you:

My youngest has to use Nasonex (steriod nasal spray) from now until the end of time to keep nasal polyps away.

When we first got a prescription I had them call it into Wal-Mart pharmacy and about fell over when I went and picked it up in November and it cost me $50 and that was with insurance (got it half off with the insurance).

Since we switched doctors I asked the new doctor if I would be able to get a new prescription from him. Was worried about having medicine with a doctor's name on that we never see. He agreed and wrote me a new prescription.

Instead of going back to Wal-Mart to get it filled I went to a "Lewis Drug Store" smaller store than Wal-Mart, usually the items cost more there depending on the sales. I did find a coupon on the Nasonex website for $10 off of the co-pay but was still dreading the $40 it would end up costing, but it is medicine and don't really have a choice in the matter if I want him to stay healthy.

My mouth hit the floor when I had to pay for the prescription it was $25 then with the $10 off I only had to pay $15. I was in such a shock I even asked them if there was a mistake. Nope that was the correct price. Can't leave a good thing alone and told them how much I paid at Wal-Mart. They told me that is how Wal-Mart does, they count on you to pay for it, since you stop there to get your medicine and other items as well.

Now I am a little peeved at Wal-Mart and will not take medicines to get filled any more. Learned my lesson-shop around on your medicine folks!

Wow...now that is a learning experience!! I know that Wal-Mart price matches....what about with medications? I would have been one of the first to call Wal-Mart and asked the manager about this. That is down right crazy!! I am glad you got a better deal Kim!!!

Medicines aren't always a rip off at Wal-Mart, yeah some definitely are. Actually my depression meds are only $4 at wal-mart and everywhere else its $5 since its a generic.

Yes Wal-mart is a rip off when filling many prescriptions! I was hit with one my husband had to have following his cancer surgery and they claimed neither of our insurances would cover it. $187!!! the next time I filled it while still in the big city at CVS $27!! both insurances covered it! I'll never fill another prescription at Walmart again!
