I hate it when I screw up....

I had to wait to send in the registration for my daughter to play soccer this year. I just didn't have the money. I filled out all the forms and waited to mail it in so the check would clear. When my husband got paid I could mail it. Well, I wasn't paying attention to other things started paying bills. The house payment, a pair of cleats for football and some grocery shopping pretty much took care of his paycheck. He won't get paid for 2 more weeks. I still need to pay the cc and groceries till then. I'm watching the bank account to see when the soccer check will clear so I don't over spend. I decide to deal with the cc missed payment so we can eat for the next 2 weeks. I got a phone call this morning that they recieved my daughter's soccer registration but there was no check in the envelope. I scrambled for my checkbook and sure enough I sealed the envelope and forgot to write the check! Damn it!!!!! I'm not sure what I was thinking but I'm paying for it now. I've got to learn how to budget better. I know things will get better, they always do. I just hate feeling like I failed everyone. Today is our 15 year wedding anniversary and we already weren't celebrating. Too busy with football practice and no extra money. Now this happens. Sometimes i just want to scream.

That can sure mess up a day, can't it? I've been in your shoes before on the same subject. Not enough money to finish out the month. Or to much month and not enough money. We've been married for 18 years, and over the years we've had to bipass our anniversary too. Just didn't have the extra money to do anything. We still stuggle at times. But we figured that onces the kids are grown and on their own, then we would be able to do more for us. We both wanted kids, so I guess we can wait until later to celebrate our anniversay.............hope the next pay day goes better for you.

I've never had to worry about money until this year. Retirement and fixed once a month budget. Still got kids in the house and seems like everything that can go wrong does! The Ac went out and the fridge died the same week. Tires shot on the car and had to get two new ones to pass inspection. Living on a fixed budget for the first time ever has been a very big challenge. We had an emergency fund to fall back on but it's gone now. By the middle of each month I'm lucky to have $5 left. The kids and I sat down and made up a budget. Got $1200 in payments (utilities, insurance, ect) and then we will divide the rest into 4 envelopes this coming month to see if we can finally make it to the end of the month. Better to run out of money mid week than mid month! Pretty bad when my 16 yr old has a wreak and her truck is headed for the junk yard and all we can think of is she had just filled it up before the accident and we got to get down there and siphon the gas out so we can have gas for the rest of the month! Hope I figure this fixed income thing out soon! Hope you figure it out soon too!

Thanks guys, sometimes I think I just need to mope and complain. I absolutly love this site. None of my friends (around here) can relate to our situation and I feel wierd talking to them about it. It's really comforting to knw I can come here and find friends who will always be there when I need to bend someones ear. I have come to depend on everyone here when I need some moral support. The things I have learned from this site have truly changed my life. Thank you
